Ella Richards Fairy Art
The Fairy Gathering brings you the fabulous traditional fairy art of Ella Richards!
Previous to completing a PGCE in Secondary Design & Technology and beginning a career in teaching, I graduated from the University of Surrey Roehampton in 2004, where I received a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree Certificate in ‘Art For Public Space’. The degree was designed to enable artists to have a wider understanding of Public Art and Site-Specific Art. I spent the second year of my degree working in Mosaic and the third year in Stained Glass. I went on to freelance for a year before embarking on a teaching career.
Alongside glass and mosaic I also enjoy working in a range of different mediums: pencil, oil paint, watercolours, encaustic wax, textiles and beadwork, most recently focusing on making jewellery and dreamcatchers. I own my own jewellery business alongside my business partner making and selling our own handmade creations at www.dreamboutique.co.uk
A huge amount of my enthusiasm for art comes from natural forms and I find patterns within nature extremely interesting and inspiring. I also have the “Itchy Feet Syndrome” and want to go travelling constantly. So much of my inspiration has come from the amazing places I have been fortunate enough to visit on my travels, and I hope to have the opportunity to travel whenever possible.
I am a self confessed daydreamer and have to admit to regular midday flights of fantasy!
